Panorama at Dusk
I took this picture one morning while walking to school. I made into a panorama and really liked the results. My project was a little late due to computer problems, but you guys can tell me what you think here.

The Mini Legend
This is one of my good friends Darrien Greene. I call him the Mini Legend because when I first met him he wasn't very good at skating. A year later he was amazing at skating! To set the mood for this photo I made it black and white. I also adjusted the brightness and contrast level to attain a crisp image. This also gave it a more shadowy feel and enhanced the mood.

Beauty of a Falling Image
Great Idea
This is the picture I used for blur. This really took a long time to make, and yes there are many faults but I think its a really cool blur. The man in focus has a great idea. Eureaka! He is going to change the world.

Chain of memories
The Lone Wolf
I took a picture of my sister blowing bubbles and made it black and white. Although it's dark, I still used it for my nostalgia project. I took the picture of her beside a tree playing by herself because it reminded me a lot of myself. If I wasn't being a tomboy, I was usually playing by myself.....and that was by choice.

ART is everything
I used this image for reflections. I inverted the colors so it look like the window of a church building. With that mindset the name of the picture makes sense. The sunlight reflecting through the artistic window shows that the world is colorful thanks to art. If you think about it this may mean everything on earth has an artistic explination, from the man on the top of the world to the fish in the sea.

Merry Apple Juice
I named this image Merry Apple Juice because if you look or ask me to explain the carton makes a smiley face. This is my DOF picture as you can clearly see. The words and the carton are clearly visible, as the backround, the un- important stuff (pacheco) is blurred lol! all in all its a pretty on task image and its probably the best picture ive taken so far.

Goodnight Autumn
This photo was taken outside of my house in Saugerties.During Autumn the surrounding of my house is gorgeous! But sad knowing the fact that winter coming.Yes I changed the photo with Hue/Saturation to give the red leaves a bold statement.I used vibrance and light/dark contrast to darken the back ground and lighten the fore ground.

Brooklyn
I go to the city a lot and I love it. Brooklyn is a great place to take pictures and see interesting things. I took this on the Brooklyn Bridge. I loved the rusted industrial look of the bridge. This post has a worn look to it and the rust/chipped paint can be seen in detail. The city in the background shows depth. I did not edit the blur, but this was one of the only pictures depth of field came naturally to. I edited contrast, levels, and cropped it.

The Walk Of Fate
I used this picture for the blog because I think this was one of my best images. I love the sepia tone in this picture. The scattering of leaves and the bend in the road to the unknown make the picture more eerie. I tired to capture the motion of the leaves falling, but the camera was a little too slow. This image makes me feel as though time had stopped while I was walking there adding such a creepy but fascinating feel to the picture. All in all, I am pretty satisfied with the results and I think it's a great addition to the blog. Tell me what you think!
Whats On Tap?
Chrome is great for capturing reflections. The curves of the metal bend images nicely. I have an obnoxiously orange bathroom in my house. There are tons of pictures in there. Its quite overwhelming, but I knew I would use the bathroom for the reflection project. I used an orange hue photo filter, cropped it, and increased the contrast. I love the bend of colors and shapes especially because it brings out the the contrast between the busyness of these abstract shapes and the solid orange wall.
Nostalgia
For our Nostalgia theme I took this picture of my homeroom from 9th grade. It brought back a lot of memories. This is the first place I went to when I came to the high school. Interestingly enough, it also happened to have the word Nostalgia on the door. I made the picture black and white to help add to the feeling of nostalgia. I think it came out very well and I am happy with my results.
Shipyard Silhouette
While strolling around New York City in the late summer, we saw some amazing sunsets. My mom pointed this scene out and I loved it. She told me a story about this place and that inspired me to take this picture. I love the colors of the sunset which created the contrast that formed a silhouette of the building. I cropped the image and increased the contrast. The colors were so powerful and vibrant I didn't do much more with them. I am especially pleased that I captured the fine details in the construction of this building.
sewing project
I took this picture for the nostalgia project. There were so many ways to compose this shot so I took it from many different angles. I like this angle the most because the strong horizontal angle and deep perspective gives so much depth to the photo. I only edited the contrast and exposure, both of which made the details stand out more. The vertical lines of the railing, with the horizontal repetition of the machines created a rhythm that makes your eyes enter and move through the picture. The variety of different shapes and colors also adds interest.

Afternoon Haze
The birds on the wire caught my attention. I don't think I would have taken this picture if they wern't there because I think they add the right touch of intrest. I used the rule of thirds, focused on the contrast, and changed it to black and white. I used minimal editing. I think the dark contrast of the silhouetted lamp post draws your eye into the image and the cable lines of the bridge lead the viewer across the bridge. The position of the lamp post fits perfectly between the cable lines of the bridge and adds more intrest.

Rise & Shine
This is from the first project cars, but I'm just getting up-to-date and posting everything on the blog. I basically cropped the whole car out, only leaving part of the back of the car visible. I did this because of the obvious view of the sunrise which left the sky this awesome orange-ish pink. Great view ;)
"Island of Hope, Island of Tears"
I went to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty in the teens of October on a school field trip. Knowing little of the reflection assignment for photography, I just decided to take a ton of different pictures for keepsakes. The now renovated area where immigrants were inspected, collected and/or rejected was the first place I went upon arriving on the island. I started snapping shots immediately. I had a picture already picked out that I wanted to use for a figurative reflection shot. But seeing this beautiful, massive window-door looked way different on the computer versus the tiny camera screen. The window-door itself is incredible and with a close-up, it could've easily been used for an architecture picture. But that wouldn't have been suffice for such an amazing view. I used the quote most commonly used by the monotone tour guides. The "Island of Hope, Island of Tears" because both parts of the quote fit the picture immensely. Looking at the window-door itself, you see the pattern on the window section, with x's aligned on each square. This represents the 'hope' part, because when immigrants thought of America, they thought of beauty. Then the reflection on the floor represents the 'tears' part. To me, it looks as if the door to America is in the middle and there are bars, as if one were trapped or imprisoned. It also looks like water, which is what tears are, which is what the immigrants would be sailing on if they didn't get citizenship to come into America. As far as editing, I turned the picture black and white and added a vignette.although it doesn't appear that I added a vignette because the picture was turned black and white. But if you look at all four corners, you can tell that there was manipulation because they are irregularly black/dark. I thought by making the outside more dark with hue/saturation, would bring out..or should I say bring in, the inner part of the picture, the focus point. And in my opinion, it turned out great!

The Stairs
I took a picture of the stairs at the High School. I find the stairs very cool, they had lots of detail to them. I edited it with different layers to make it better looking.

WJC
I took this photo for my architecture project. It was taken at Mohonk at the top near the tower. I could have used the tower for the architecture but I felt that it was too generic to photograph a building, so I used a bench that my girlfriend was resting on. The sun was just beginning to set, so the lighting was perfect. There was no flash so I had to hold the camera very still. The shutter was open for almost 1 second. The shadows and golden color are my favorite part about this photo.
#77
This picture was taken in Lake Placid on the rink that the 1980 olympics were played. For hockey fans this rink holds lots of history and tons of significance. Hockey has been my life since I was 4. When i look at this picture it makes me think of my childhood years spent freezing in hockey rinks. Although I have never played hockey it is very much still a large part of my life. My brother can be seen on the bench as number 77.
Spindles
I took this picture because
I liked the way the vertical lines of the spindles contrasts with the horizontal lay of the bricks. Also, the green coloring is very vibrant.

Night on the Hudson
This my reflection's photo. Yes, it's severely dark. I purposely made it extremely under exposured to isolate the moon and it's reflection. I took this picture when I was thinking of how many girls in school wear pearls and I'm not one of them!
The Dukes of Weekends(:
I saw this car in my friend Coleman's house while at a party there. A bunch of friends, his mother and I were sitting in the living room when I spotted the car sitting on top of the cable box. The car made me think of when I was younger. I used to sit every weekend and watch old movies with my grandparents all weekend long. One of my favorites was the Dukes of Hazard. Every time it would come on, I would sit in the middle of the floor and not move a muscle until it was over even though there were no commercials.
I post edited this image by using selective color to make the colors pop. I used Curve Adjustments to darken the darks and lighten the value of the cable box while subduing the reflection of the sun off the floor.
Dashboard
I took this photo from various angles, and found this one to be my favorite. There are many different shapes in this composition, which move the eyes from areas of organic shapes to sharp lines. There is great contrast between the deep insides of the tractor and the outer dashboard. The aqua color is youthful and vibrant, though the machine is old and retired.

The Hood
I was by the Hudson River where I saw these cars parked by the bridge. The reflections on the hood of this particular car caught my attention. A little adjustment in contrast made this image look awesome. This car I took a picture of because it was a very nice car and the reflection with the trees on the hood, looked awesome!

Red's my name
This door was attached to this large gorgeous stone house that I live 2 mins away from on John Joy.This door stood out to me.It seemed eccentric to the elgeant structure of this stone house.
Yes I changed the color to this cherry red with Hue/Saturation and with curves I brighten it to give it a cheery mood.
Autumn Car
I have a thing for old things. This car caught my attention. It was a truck with a plow attached to it and it's been sitting in the same spot ever since I can remember. Yes I changed it, I changed the color. The origal color was a dull rusted yellow and now I changed it to a dark red with Hue/Saturation. The light has been darked to give it allure and age. The sunlight was some support in giving light on the knob, especially the cobweb gave it some extra age. The background is intensely bright which is the main thing that caught my attention.

City Hall
Our theme for this project was to search for composition using architecture as inspiration. My idea for this project was to portray a perspective view of Kingston through my eyes by choosing a view of City Hall. I found the timeless nature of black and white a suitable choice for this image. I decided that an exaggerated angle would give the composition a feeling of power and I think the choice of increasing the contrasts enhance this feeling. The addition of a vignette also adds to the drama and dominating mood.
